Welcome to our site! The Wizzy Wrap™ was launched on August 15th, 2010 at the New York Gift Show at the Javits Center. The Wizzy Wrap™ was created to solve two problems. The first was to find a better and easier way to wrap presents and the second was to avoid all the waste associated with wrapping with paper. Wrapping paper can be beautiful but it is cumbersome and time consuming to use and ends up in the trash most of the time anyway.
Making the wrapping out of fabric was the obvious solution. Further, the solution had to have the following attributes:
- Convey the importance of the gift
- Be easy to use
- Be fun to use
- Must maintain the element of suspense when being unwrapped
- Be reusable, either for wrapping or for something else
- Store flat
- Be quick to wrap
- Have an integrated closure (ribbon) so everything one needs was there
- Allow for personalization
- Able to handle different sized gifts
The product was conceived by Tonio Palmer, the company founder, and realized by Athan Vennell, an up-and-coming design based in Northampton MA. Together they have tweaked the Wizzy Wrap™ into its current form. Patent papers have been filed for the the Wizzy Wrap™ with the status Patent Pending.
It is our hope that using this product will show that there is a better way to wrap gifts than using beautiful paper and ribbons which end up in the trash. Each Wizzy Wrap™ should have a long life spreading joy and happiness as it gets passed on from friend to friend.
